Match Report

Talk about a baptism of fire!

First Maltby, then came Hillsboro Pumas who had just come down from A division

This game was definitely going to a tough one.

We had two players making the squad who were carrying injuries left over from school football. We decided to leave Ben Parker out and Play Peter.

After only a few minutes Peters injury became worse and he had to leave the field. We reshuffled and on came Callum who was going to get his first decent run since joining us from Birks Holt.

It was a very scrappy affair with neither teams really getting an hold on the game.

Midfield pair Josh Bibby and Alistair Backhouse were causing pumas many problems with tough tackling and nice passing .

All the defence were working hard to prevent goals and to be fair I don't think Hillsboro had a proper shot on goal

Our first goal came from a brave Rob Connelly header  which could have resulted in injury but a marksman like Rob was never going to duck this chance.

Jamie Wootton grabbed the second  and then finished the day with a brace after he chased a lofted pass to out sprint the defence and finish with an header over the advancing keeper.

Man of the match went to Macca was was solid throughout the game and made some great overlapping play on the right side of defence.
